Family wins High Court battle to overturn will leaving £400k to hairdresser.
Judge tells travelling hairdresser to repay money after Will was altered barely 2 months before death.
MorePearson Hinchliffe has been given a reassuring boost by Lexcel the industry’s independent assessor, described the firm as being “in the best position to weather the current market” and placed among the top 500 in England and Wales.
After a painstaking independent inspection Pearson Hinchliffe retained the Lexcel quality mark, run by the Law Society and awarded only to solicitors who meet the highest management and customer-care standards.
Anne Milne, who assessed the Queen Street practice, praised the firm for its ability to, "attract future work, particularly from larger commercial clients".
Ms Milne also praised the firm’s “sound policies and procedures”, and excellent client feedback. “Client questionnaires indicate a high degree of satisfaction with the service provided,” she commented.
“Times are tough for many firms in the country,” said partner John Pollitt. “But we have shown that by going that extra mile for clients and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction, you can attract new business and, hopefully, buck the economic trend.”
Lexcel-accredited firms are reinspected annually. Pearson Hinchliffe, established in Oldham for more than 130 years, has held the standard continuously since 2002.
Pearson Hinchliffe – which has specialist departments dealing in personal injury and accidents, medical negligence, family law and child care, wills, trusts and probate, conveyancing and criminal defence - has also created a dedicated office for its commercial clients. Called Pearson Hinchliffe Commercial Law, the new department is based at the Hollinwood Business Centre covering commercial law, commercial litigation, employment law and commercial property, has a rolling programme of growth under which it recruits two new trainee solicitors every year. “We have a 100 per cent retention rate with our trainees, so we are obviously doing something right,” said Mr Pollitt.
